The Issue

My name is Reghan Fairley and I am from Rochester, NY.

As of May 1st, my developmentally disabled sister, along with many other Monroe 1 Boces students will no longer be able to attend her after school programs. This is because they're cutting off the transportation that they need to get to their programs. These programs are necessary for her to succeed in everyday life and teach her valuable skills that she can't truly learn anywhere else. My sister benefits greatly from these programs and we don't want to lose them!

The following is a post from our mother, Kelly Fairley: "I just found out that Medical Motors can no longer transport my daughter to her after school waiver funded program, Stepping Stones Learning Center, after May 1st. This is outrageous! For anyone who works with people with developmental disabilities, autism, etc. this is devastating news. This program is teaching Siobhan Rose Fairley valuable life skills that she will need as an adult. We will not be here forever so we need to prepare her for tomorrow. That takes time, patience, commitment and the skills of many people. Without transportation, she and many of the students at Monroe 1 BOCES will not have transportation to their wonderful after school programs. Please contact your state and federal representatives to get this reversed!"

Please help our family and many others get these kids to their after school programs!
