Use LCPS Snow days for an Extra Week off during Spring Break

Loudoun County Public Schools has 15 snow days built into the schedule to make sure there aren't days added on to the end of the school year. This winter so far has resulted in 0 snow days used. This means students are in school longer than necessary. We propose using the allotted snow days and adding them to spring break in order to use some of them and not have 14 unnecessary days in school. The reason days would be added to spring break and not taken from the end of the year is because graduation and test dates are already set, and ending school earlier would interfere with these dates. This extra week would result in using 5 LCPS allotted snow days, which is only 33.3% of the total snow days, so we would still have more days to use for emergencies later in the year, if necessary. Students work really hard in school and deserve a break, do you want to go to school more than you have to? Sign this petition and let LCPS know what you want!!!!
