TLC Healthcare Homestead Lakes Aged Care facility in Wallington, Victoria will destroy two unique onsite lakes teeming with wildlife, turtles and frogs.

Filling in these two lakes (which have been there for nearly 20 years) is DISASTROUS for the welfare and safety of the waterfowl, turtles and frogs who will be homeless, some may die. They are part of the larger wetland systems so are vital to the environment.

Plus ELDERLY RESIDENTS of the facility and their visitors LOVE the beautiful water views and the enjoyment of watching the antics of the ducks and their babies on a daily basis, so they want to keep the lakes too. 

Originally formed as waste water treatment plants, re- development will send waster water off site. But calls to keep and re-purpose the lakes by harnessing roof run off instead (storm water) to keep water levels up, build pool safety fences and landscaping have been ignored by TLC.

Please sign this petition to send a strong message asking TLC Healthcare to not fill in the lakes at Wallington. but instead keep them as a show piece for the community to enjoy and save the waterfowl, turtles and frogs from destruction.
