Petition Lothian Buses to re-record mispronunciation of historical Edinburgh names

The Issue

In a fast growing and dynamic city such as Edinburgh it is ever more important to protect our cultural heritage. While we are all delighted to have a new fleet of buses, local people have been left feeling rather upset over the mispronunciation of their much loved local areas by the pre-recorded bus stop announcement.

Areas such as ‘Restalrig’ ‘Broughton’ and ‘Dumbiedykes’ all affected and possibly more.

Please sign this petition to strongly urge Lothian Buses to change these recordings (and follow in the footsteps of LNER who recently responded to Scottish passenger complaints to change their recordings-link below) and keep alive the local pronunciation of these historical place names.
