This petition is regarding the recent announcement of establishing a COVID-19 quarantine facility in the city of Bell Gardens. We want to make public officials aware that there are people surrounding this facility.

Bell Gardens is a predominantly low-income, immigrant community. There was a lack of transparency with the county in addressing this to make residents aware of this decision. We need to decrease the possibility of COVID-19 spreading through a dense at-high risk community.

Are we being guaranteed that these quarantined individuals will stay in this facility? What protection measures will be taken for staff, security, and surrounding residents? What will the consequences of this facility be and how will it affect the dense community that the city of Bell Gardens has?

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis and Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia must be transparent in what led to this decision and why the residents of the city of Bell Gardens were not notified of this decision. This petition urges elected officials for the immediate relocation of this COVID-19 quarantine facility.
