Chicago just became the largest city in the USA to commit to 100% clean, renewable energy. This means that they will be using renewable electricity in all buildings, lowering high levels of greenhouse gases that are being released into the atmosphere and improving general air quality. While this is a lot of good work done, there still needs to be an extra push in this country.  While changing things here in Chicago where I live will help, more can still be done. Currently, Los Angeles CA is the most heavily polluted city in the country on account of air pollutants. Think of all the people affected by this, whether they have lung conditions (I have asthma so I get that part), or they just have to deal with polluted air in their day to day lives, it can be a major part of how they live. While much of this is from nearby forest fires, the man made pollutants are the largest part of what causes the fires or makes then worse. If Los Angeles committed to clean energy like Chicago did, the countries annual air pollutants would go down majorly. This petition is to get the attention of the Los angeles government to get them to convert, at least partly, to clean and renewable energy.
