Recruit Rosie to Portray Steve Bannon on SNL

The Issue

tl;dr A simple (and silly?) request to SNL to bring Rosie O’Donnell on to play Steve Bannon. Millions of people would watch. Trump would lose his mind.
_______

We’ve all seen Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of Trump. He’s not bad. And then they added Melissa McCarthy to the mix, and she’s...hilarious.

After she played Sean Spicer on February 4, Politico reported that “More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes, according to sources close to him.”

What’s so bad about being portrayed by a woman? Well, why don’t we let a top Trump donor tell us: "Trump doesn't like his people to look weak.”

What?

With those rumors in mind, people couldn’t resist finding another woman to put forward as SNL’s next addition to their presidential team. And who better than a comedian who Trump seems to have hated forever — Rosie O’Donnell. As Steve Bannon.

Oh man. Trump would hate that.

And the best part? After seeing Tweets suggesting that SNL cast Rosie...she chimed in and said she’d do it!

When asked if she’d “take one for the team” and play Bannon, she answered, “i am here to serve - alec has trump - melissa has spice - i would need a few days to prepare - so if called - i will be ready.”

Now all we need is for SNL to make the call.

Yes, Rosie might have been joking. And, yes, as Vanity Fair points out, SNL “doesn’t often cast its roles by committee.” But come on, this should happen. It’s a win-win-win situation for Rosie, SNL, and all of the rest of us who get to watch. The only people who lose in this scenario are the ones who should.

Whether you take the Atlantic’s high-minded perspective that “satire, with this president, is more than an amusement — it’s a weapon” or whether you just think it would be funny, leave your name on this petition and let SNL know that you vote for Rosie O’Donnell to be the next President Bannon.
