Rehire Chicago Public Library Foundation Employees

The Issue

When the city-wide shutdown first occurred in March, Chicago Public Library Foundation grant-funded employees were unfairly laid off. These employees are essential to the functioning if the Chicago Public Library, including providing computer assistance, teen mentoring, and children's homework help, and they were targeted by the inequitable systems of capitalism that led to their employment insecurity. Unemployment insurance will be ending soon, and these employees have not been reinstated to their positions, despite the library being open for over a month now. They deserve justice.
