Blight is a major issue in the city of Chicago that mostly affects the south and west sides of the City. ¨ Blighted areas are that, by reason of deterioration, faulty, planning, inadequate or improper facilities, deleterious land use or the existence of unsafe structures, or any combination of these factors , are detrimental to the safety, health, or welfare of the community.¨ Although blight mostly occurs on the south and west sides of Chicago it affects the whole city as a whole. Blight leads to family distress, gun violence, education issues for schools, and the children in those schools. I live in Chicago and what I don´t like to see is different neighborhoods treated differently from others.  We all live here why not do what we can to make our city the best it can be.
