Ask AG Loretta Lynch To Question James Comey Under Oath Regarding Clinton Email Letter

The Issue

James Comey's recent letter to Congress, 'updating' them in regard to an ongoing investigation involving a candidate for President, has thrown the 2016 Presidential Election into chaos, not so much because of what it contained, but rather, what it did not contain and did not say. The vagueness of the letter has created nothing but speculation, unsubstantiated interpretation, conspiracy theory, and innuendo, while providing nothing of value or substance.

FBI Director Comey's unilateral injection into electoral politics is unprecedented and goes against all known policy and protocol, and was done so without the approval, and in fact, with the known disapproval, of his superiors at the Department of Justice.  Dir. Comey's actions easily cross the threshold of appearing to be partisan politics by knowingly releasing statements damaging to only one candidate that he fully knew had the potential - if not probably - outcome of influencing the the outcome of the current election.  Such actions are in possible violation of the Hatch Act, which expressly forbids such disclosure that would unquestionably influence an election result.

Because knowledge, understanding, and stability are critical elements to a fair election, we, the undersigned petitioners, hereby petition Attorney General Loretta Lynch, to place FBI Directory James Comey under oath and ask the following questions that would bring a degree of necessary stability and common understanding to the American Public during the final days of the 2016 Presidential Election:

1)  Did you, James Comey, obtain all lawfully required court documents [suboenas and/or search warrants] necessary to fully and accurately obtain access to and analyze the information underlying the statements you made in your 10/28/16 Letter to Congress regarding the Sec. Hillary Clinton Email Investigation, and did you obtain the necessary court documents PRIOR to first accessing such information?

2)  Did you personally find any documents directly tied to the investigation of Sec. Hillary Clinton's personal use of the private email server under investigation, and if so, what were their relationship to the investigation?

3)  Did you find any clear proof of criminal activity on behalf of Sec. Hillary Clinton in the information you personally reviewed on the computer in question that gave rise to your letter to Congress?

4) Given your admission that you fully understood the potential for 'misunderstanding' regarding the statements you made in your letter to Congress, and given your understanding that your statements would be sent to and used by partisan politician involved in a highly partisan election, and given your understanding that the Hatch Act expressly forbids using your position to influence an election, and given your understanding that your superiors in the Dept. of Justice did not give you approval to release the statements you released, please explain why you chose to deliberately disregard all the above, and why you made the unilateral determination to send the letter anyway, knowing the damage it would cause our American Democracy?

5)  Is there any reason you should not be held accountable for your actions and fired for clear violations of Departmental policy and the ensuing disruption to American Democracy that has resulted from your actions?
