Yesterday I was waiting at the bus stop and a couple walked past me with their Doberman. Everyone at the bus stop stared at them because the dog had its ears tied together and were using a choke collar to keep it walking correctly. Everyone was also staring because of how desperately miserable the dog looked. 

After I got home I researched if any steps were being done to remove these barbaric devices from society and there isnt any. Its completely legal. How on earth, in 2020, are we allowing dogs to walk alongside us whilst being strangled!? Its inhumane, cruel and innecesary. 

if you cannot walk your dog without silently suffocating it then you shouldnt be allowed one (but that’s a seperate petition!) 

Animal Welfare Act 2006 reads 

“A person commits an offence if—

(a)an act of his, or a failure of his to act, causes an animal to suffer,

(b)he knew, or ought reasonably to have known, that the act, or failure to act, would have that effect or be likely to do so,

(c)the animal is a protected animal, and

(d)the suffering is unnecessary.”

What part of using a choke collar is necessary!? Millions of people have dogs and DONT use one.
