Hi to all,

Please kindly read this important news update.

As you may have noticed, the petition has so far received 3,013 signatures, which is brilliant news for the campaign. The target still remains at 5,000. I hope that more people will be kindly encouraged to sign the petition to get to its target.

To make this campaign more active, it is very important that I need the help and support from the local community in the Lea Bridge area in Waltham Forest. Without them, the campaign would not be active to achieve its target goal.

I have emailed the local newspapers, such as Waltham Forest Echo, East London advertiser, Hackney Gazette and Newham Recorder, just to name a few, to try and get their support to publish the campaign on their websites. But having said that the Hare and Hounds football ground and the campaign have reached the national newspaper websites, which is fantastic news for the campaign.

I would like to inform you that the restaurant is still continuing to use the premises of the abandoned Leyton FC football ground as a car park with a marquee on the pitch and using the changing rooms as food storage, which goes against the covenant which states that the land has to be kept as a sports ground.

Also, the future redevelopment plan of building flats on the football site is now off the cards for the private owners, which was rejected by Waltham Forest council because of the flooding from the river Lea. I would like to encourage the private owners of the football ground to engage in talks with the local Waltham Forest councillor for Lea Bridge Ward, the MP for Walthamstow, and some members of the local community and me who would like the Hare and Hounds ground to be preserved as a football ground and I also would like to kindly encourage the private owners of the football ground to consider in engage talks with the local grassroots football clubs and with the local Waltham forest councillor for the lea bridge ward who are interested in bring local football back to the abandoned Leyton FC football ground for the local community there in Lea bridge road in Leyton.

Finally, it is very important that I hope the private owners of the football ground would kindly take the time to listen to the points of views of those who would like to see the Hare and Hounds site to be preserved as a football ground.

Thank you

Nigel
