Hi to all,
Please read this important news update.
I just want to inform you that I have received an email from the leader of Waltham Forest Council regarding the Hare and Hounds football ground.
The leader of the council kindly thanks me for informing her about the progress made with the campaign to save the former Leyton FC football ground and the popularity it has reached.
The leader of the council kindly informed me that the land is privately owned and has not been operational as a football ground since 2011, which I already knew about. Also in the email, the leader of the council then went on to say:
"The council will work with the landowner to ensure any future proposals for the land give consideration to sports and leisure uses, alongside all other relevant planning policies, and recognise the local interest in the history of the site and it's former use as a football ground. Any proposal for a development of the land will also be subject to full stakeholder and public consultation as part of the standard planning process."
If you have an important point of view that you would like to raise with the leader of Waltham Forest Council concerning the future redevelopment plans on the Hare and Hounds site and you want it to remain as a football ground, then it is very important that you kindly get in contact with Councillor Grace Williams, who is the leader of Waltham Forest Council.
May I suggest that you please send an email to this address:
Cllr.Grace.Williams@walthamforest.gov.uk
It is therefore very critical that Councillor Williams gets to hear your point of view about the former Leyton FC football ground.
Also, please can you share this important news update on your Facebook or Twitter page with others.
Thank you
Nigel West
