STOP ‘Open Arms’ in Ruskin Park; 5 months/5 days a week disruption for residents and users
Lambeth is considering whether to approve an event run by Assembled Gala LTD called ‘Open Arms’ in Ruskin Park. If approved, this event will run for 5 months (mid April - mid September), 5 days a week (12-9pm), and will include the sale of alcohol, live music, the use of generators, and the installation of semi permanent structures.
This community enjoys music, loves meeting friends and needs a party (like everyone else)! BUT this proposal is inappropriate in its length and frequency, and will serve to ruin an already busy public space for the whole Summer. Concerns include:
- Increased noise pollution, including music and people entering and exiting
- Lack of space and quiet to enjoy the nature of the park
- Rubbish management
- Traffic and parking congestion
Let’s have a party (no need for 5 months of it!), and let’s also give some thought to residents and visitors who may want and need some space, peace and quiet to enjoy the summer months.
