Change Logansport's Firework Ordinance

Change Logansport's Firework Ordinance
Why this petition matters

Logansport, IN's current firework ordinance allows fireworks within city limits during the following times:
- Between the hours of 5 pm and two hours after sunset on June 29-30 and July 1-3 and 5-9
- Between the hours of 10 am and midnight on July 4
Unfortunately, many Logansport citizens have learned that not everyone uses fireworks within the boundaries of the current ordinance, which affects many families and individuals throughout the week following July 4th.
Those signing this petition feel that 11 days of fireworks is unreasonable, as it causes many dogs distress, affects veterans with PTSD who also experience substantial distress, and prevents working adults from going to bed and staying asleep at a reasonable hour. I personally experience this with my own family members who served our country, as well as my dog, who was rescued from unfortunate circumstances.
Changing the ordinance to allow 3-4 days of fireworks during the July 4th holiday allows many to celebrate the independence of our nation without affecting the peace and well-being of the Logansport community.
Thank you for your time and support as we make our city the best it can be.
