If Logan Council can offer payment plans for : 

Pet registrations and Rates notices then also offer logan residents a payment plan to have pets home from the pound !!  Many animals then would not be caught up in the high numbers of euthanasia every year. 

Pets are family for many, it is devastating to owners to have to choose to lose their pet due to monetary reasons.  It is also hard enough for pet owners to cope with veterinary prices charged if added to impounding costs. 

Not everyone's circumstance stays the same, jobs, illness, price of living and unforseen hardships occur every day. If council can be compassionate to the needs of extending peoples bills, then for heavens sakes, Help the people to help their pets get home!!   No one wants to choose death for their pet.

^Logan’s 2011/12 figures*** Despite claiming an excellent relationship with rescue groups and a comprehensive rehoming program, just 725 dogs and 349 cats made it out alive via these channels last year. Compared to 1,504 dogs and 2,101 cats who were killed.
