Star Ocean: Second Evolution is a 2008 PSP remaster of the critically acclaimed second entry to the Star Ocean JRPG series that originally released on the PS1 in 1999.

 

 

Beloved game studio, triAce, who is published by Square Enix, brought Star Ocean: Second Evolution to the PS4 and Vita systems in 2015, but for Japan only. While we are all happy that our Japanese friends get to enjoy this masterpiece on a modern console, we in the West are left to twiddle our thumbs in search for physical copies of the PSP UMD, which are scarce and cost hundreds of USD. 

In a recent interview with Orpheus Joshua, triAce mentioned that they would bring Star Ocean: Second Evolution to the West “if fans are vocal enough about it”.

Orpheus Joshua: "This is a long shot, but we’d be in trouble if we didn’t ask. What is the chance Star Ocean 2’s PS4 port will come west?"

Star Ocean Development Team: "We would absolutely appreciate it if fans were vocal with their wishes. The more vocal they are, the more likely it would reach the executives…"
