In recent weeks there’s been a push from certain officials to rename Robert Moses State Park in Babylon, NY. Robert Moses was an iconic and integral part of the history and story of the creation/development of Long Island, New York City, and the greater metro area as a whole. Now, while it’s well known that Moses is a controversial person. Whose decisions at times were racially biased, I don’t believethe right course of action is erasing his history...because in the end its all of our history that will start to be erased. After all, at this rate what’s stopping us from taking Jefferson, and Washington off our currency? I think the better way to address the issue is to talk about it, get some dialogue going between individuals, look at the facts and history, and push for it to not be repeated in the present. I ask for your petition to keep a cherished place in all our hearts. The same for the next generations to come. And to not let certain stains blindside us from the bigger picture.
