This weekend will mark the 5th “public rally” at Meridian Square in Barrie that is being hosted under the pretense of “freedom” and “rights”, but which is about personal agendas and public spotlight.

Hundreds of attendees are going to these rallies, blatantly violating Ontario’s Stay-at-home legislation (O.Reg. 265/21) that specifically prohibits gatherings and states, “Every individual shall remain at the residence at which they are currently residing at all times unless leaving their residence is necessary”. This legislation was enacted to protect lives, to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and hopefully bring an end to the catastrophic impact it is having on our communities.

These “public rally” attendees are gathering unlawfully and not wearing masks or physically distancing. Our health experts have warned that this behaviour can exponentially increase Covid-19 spread and death rates.

This gathering is NOT about constitutional rights, as the rally organizer would have you believe. These rallies are putting YOUR constitutional rights, and health in jeopardy.
