To Open Local City Pools for the Summer 2020 Season

To Open Local City Pools for the Summer 2020 Season
The Issue
To Petitioners:
By signing this petition, you are stating that you would like the regional city pools (Leavenworth, Cashmere, Wenatchee, Quincy, Ephrata, Moses Lake etc) to be open and properly maintained according to the CDC standards as per every season.
According to the CDC's website, the following is stated:
"There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water."
Our communities and citizens need access to our publicly funded pools. Not just because we pay for them with our hard earned tax dollars, but to bring back a sense of normalcy. For many, summer is their favorite season because of the ability to take part in activities that aren't easily available the rest of the year. Sunshine, swimming, exercise, and enjoying all of the recreational activities in our area.
It should be noted that SlideWaters in Chelan, and Silverwood Theme Park which includes Boulder Beach (A GIANT water park) will be opening this summer and we believe our local pools should be part of this opening as well.
We would also love to see our local swim team organizations be open and able to compete for the season as well if they are able to accommodate with other teams to make this happen.
Let's not drag out the isolation of this situation, but promote our city pools to be a place where we can build a community that can enjoy their summer with one another and get back to life as we enjoyed it before.
Thank you for your support!
