We, students of a Howard County High School, want to minimize the use of plastic bags in Howard County, Maryland. Plastic Bags can be found all over the sides of streets, to the mouths of sea animals in our Bay, or even the Ocean in general. To limit the use of plastic bags in our County, we want a tax of $0.05 on each plastic bag used in grocery stores. In turn, this will help the health and biodiversity of the Bay Ecosystem, and the species depending on it to survive.
