Nueva Ecija is a province that is prone to disasters such as typhoons, ground shakings, landslides, and flashfloods.

In 1990, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the major parts of Nueva Ecija, other parts of Central Luzon, and the Cordillera Region. An estimated 1,621 people were killed by this earthquake, plenty of buildings fell, and lots of property were destroyed.

On the other hand, Nueva Ecija was known as a province that frequently experience storms, typhoons and flooding, Typhoon Ondoy, Santi, and Lando are examples of massive typhoons faced by the province.

Disasters can hit and occur anytime, it can lead to damage of areas and properties, injuries and death. That's why we must know how we can handle and prepare to this destructible situation.

As a part of this community, and this province. We must be knowledgable what we can do before, during, and after the occurrence of disasters. We do not know when disasters will happen.

This petition will serve as an instrument to reach out the local government of Nueva Ecija to enhance their preparations and actions in disasters. In this way, they can prevent injuries and deaths, can lessen the damage of disasters.
