MAYOR'S DECISION
March 11th date postponed!
We don't yet know the new date for the Hearing at City Hall. Please look out for updates and get ready be there in great numbers.
SUNDAY TIMES
"Bullheaded Boris seems intent on trampling our history" by Charles Clover, a former resident of Spitalfields. Today 28 Feb in the main paper p23. http://thetim.es/215ymOE
DEADLINE FOR LETTERS EXTENDED - if you haven't already, please send a letter to Boris Johnson because numbers count. You can now do this until a few days before the Hearing.
DAYLIGHT ROBBERY
Light is one of the greatest causes of concern for this massive scheme. Over 1584 windows will fail the test for daylight loss, most by double the guideline amount. The Boundary Estate will be overshadowed all day during winter months. We commissioned an independent report on the developer's light figures and the report's author Dr Paul Littlefair described his findings as "the worst I have ever seen".
LOCAL INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES
including Ally Capellino, Leila's, Pellicci's, Labour and Wait, Mother London, Tatty Devine and the Tramshed are signing a letter to the Mayor warning that the mega-scheme will overwhelm the character and local economy of Shoreditch, Brick Lane and the wider area, which they have helped successfully to build up. This is no good for the diversity of London and we want better. Read the letter here and contact the East End Trades Guild if you have a business and want to be on the list
