Sal Ghaffar started this petition to Local Council

The falls of Clyde in Lanark where a vast majority of young people across all of Lanarkshire visit during warm days, for a day out or as many do to jump into the eye catching waterfalls has yet to be installed with any safety equipment almost a year on after the family of young 18 year old Liam Scott had requested to prevent anyone being as devastated as they were left. As beautiful as the waterfalls and wildlife may be, installing safety equipment such as an S.O.S phone to save a 15 minute walk to get signal to contact the emergency lines , a safety wring or even something as little as signs warning walkers of the many dangers that may occur at these places as if there was a sign as Liam walked towards the falls he may of second guessed himself on even going near the water. The family of Liam had kindly put together a foundation where any funds raised would go towards unprivileged footballers and to the safety equipment they had hoped to be installed. A year on and after nearly 20 thousand pounds raised NO safety equipment has been installed and the falls still remain open to people because the wild life will be damaged!! Wild life could possibly be damaged but so could human life’s and is only fair to weigh up this situation. So it is with great plead I ask you to sign this petition and help save the lives of young people by getting the correct safety equipment installed and to prevent any family and friends from going through what Liams did. Thank you!!
