Take A Stand Against Racism in Chicago's Entertainment & Hospitality Industry

The Issue

We are asking City of Chicago and Illinois leadership to establish a committee to investigate discriminatory practices and racial injustice in Chicago's entertainment and hospitality industry.

Thousands of African American consumers, event planners and employees have been victims to social redlining and racism at the hands of multiple venues in the River North & downtown neighborhoods.

We are asking the city, alderman, and business owners to take a stand against racism by signing this petition. If you are privvy to these discriminatory practices please sign this petition and join us in demanding that the city holds these venues accountable by establishing a commission that oversees claims of racially motivated misconduct and establish policies to thwart discrimination in Chicago's entertainment districts.

Diversity and inclusion is just as important in the hospitality and entertainment industry as it is in Corporate America and we believe that everyone should have the freedom of enjoyment and the ability to participate in the thriving economies of Chicago's premium hospitality and entertainment areas.

We are also asking businesses in this area to take an Equity in the Entertainment & Hospitality Industry Pledge to take a stand with us and move towards actionable items to denounce racist practices in their business, networks, and community.
