Hazard pay for grocery store employees during the coronavirus crisis

As the fear and panic of the coronavirus epidemic escalates, grocery stores (which are an essential service) across the country are getting slammed with frenzied customers leaving entire aisles barren. Grocery store employees are facing hundreds of panicking shoppers every day, desperately trying and failing to fill shelves and being treated with anger and contempt when out of stock.
Unlike healthcare providers, they also are often not provided with the equipment and supplies to protect themselves (i.e. gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, etc.), are often unable to maintain social distancing and tend to make close to, if not minimum wage with no danger pay compensation. They also don't have the ability to work from home and cannot afford to take time off.
These admirable individuals are on the forefront of exposure to this epidemic which makes them and their families incredibly vulnerable.
We the people motion to giving retail workers hazard pay to help deal with any potential disruptions in the coming months.
