The NSW State Coroner, M A Barnes, stated in the 2014 report of the Inquest of *Norma (Lynette) that "Mr Attwater does not claim that Norma gave verbal consent to his actions. In the circumstances, in my view, Norma would not have had the capacity to meaningfully consent to the sexual acts that caused the injury that led to her death and Mr Attwater was not entitled to interpret her lack of resisting as consent."
If Lynette couldn't consent to sex then how has Attwater been able to stay out of court for the last five years and not be charged, at the very least, with rape? It was the act of the rape that led to Lynette bleeding to death. Whether accidental or deliberate Lynette is still dead because of it.
How much longer will it take for the DPP, Lloyd Babb, to get legal advice from "two experienced and highly regarded barristers" and make his decision? It's been over five years since Lynette died and the perpetrators are still walking free. FREE!
I asked you last time to address NSW Premier Mike Baird. Thank you to all those who did. I did too and I received a letter from the Attorney General, Gabrielle Upton, MP. In this letter I was advised that "the DPP will be advising the public of the outcome of his decision in due course". Due course? How long is due course? Once again, it's been over five years. If you're as upset as I am about this please let Gabrielle Upton know because, as she stated in her letter to me, "the issues you have referred to fall within my portfolio". The issues? You can contact her via email here: office@upton.minister.nsw.gov.au

The Thames Valley Police in England released a video last year comparing consent to sex like consent to tea. Basically, if a person was unconscious you wouldn't expect them to consent to tea so why would you expect them to consent to sex? (Please view the full video to see what I mean.) They make a valid point. Why is it that Lynette "would not have had the capacity to meaningfully consent to the sexual acts that caused the injury that led to her death" but the two people who were involved in her death are still free? Please let the DPP, Lloyd Babb, and the Attorney General, Gabrielle Upton MP, know that we want action now!
Thank you.
