Avakin Life has officially crossed the line

The Issue

Avakin life is a free roam game where you can make friends, unleash your creativity to create your own fashion style, customize your own houses, and live within a virtual world. Many players from Avakin Life have been very disappointed with the way that things have been handled within the game recently. Their customer support has not been very helpful, and they have been taking away many rights from their players. Many people want Avakin Life to stop censoring their chats (which eventually leads to being banned for no reason), and taking away items they have already purchased. Players would like LKWD to bump the age up to 17+ again, and give players the freedom they deserve.

It has been made very clear that Avakin Life wants to make their games kid friendly, but the more kids you allow to play a game, the more pedophiles there are waiting for them. If Avakin Life wants to create a safe environment for their players, then they should eliminate children from the equation. Most kids are online to experiment with the social interactions that they may have with someone else. The kids tend to be the ones that break the rules and try to have cybersex. Taking away clothing items, and censoring more chats aren’t going to solve these problems, they are just going to allow the children to get more creative and find ways around these new restrictions. Many players are angered by this, and are quitting the game. Avakin Life has really progressed over the years, and now it has stopped and headed for the worst. Many people are switching to IMVU, as it does not censor chats or take away items that you can’t buy back again.

I have been a player of Avakin Life for almost 5 years, and over the course of my time playing their game, I have noticed all the changes. Both for the good and the bad. Lately things have taken a turn, and the more children I have encountered, the more sexual predators there are. Along with the trolling and pointless drama. Kids all find it funny and amusing. Another thing that LKWD should take into consideration is the fact that if they turn this into a kids game, how are they going to make money from it? Adults don’t want to play on a game with a bunch of kids on it. They don’t want to make friends with people that are under 17. Adults buy Avacoins because they are employed and can afford it. Kids that are under 17 however, most likely are unemployed and can’t buy this virtual currency for their account. Therefore, the adults are going to end up leaving the game, bringing in no money for the people working under LKWD.

I had gotten my first ever warning message from Avakin Life saying that I had said something in a chat that was “against the community guidelines”. I do not start issues with any players as I do not like the drama. I feel that all new players should be welcomed, so that they feel comfortable in the virtual environment. So I had contacted Avakin Life about my concern regarding this warning and learned they had tapped into messages with my friend in a chat. Which is okay, but I was accused of breaking guidelines that I didn’t break. I was asking my friend for advice when I was in a relationship with a guy that wasn’t good for me.

Shortly after this incident, I had tried to purchase a hair style from the shop, when my game glitched and the game purchased a different hairstyle than the one I wanted. Customer support told me that they couldn’t refund me for this glitch in their game, but yet a week later they refunded everyone for items that they already purchased for being “inappropriate”. Many people are disappointed in the removal of certain clothing because some outfits they have made are now unable to be worn. They weren’t misusing the clothing items.

I have been a long time player, as I have previously stated, and I am very disappointed in how these issues have been handled in Avakin Life. Many long time players feel the same way. I’d hate to quit playing Avakin Life, but I do not feel comfortable with the new changes that have been made. I have stuck with their game for a number of years, bringing in more people that I know in real life, and I am utterly disgusted in the way that situations have been handled when I have tried to contact LKWD. I hope some of these issues can be fixed or at least be taken into consideration.
