The Removal of cycle lanes on West Derby Road, Tuebrook, L13 community.
Cycle lanes are a good idea, but taking up a whole lane of a dual carriage was an ill thought out idea especially when you do not see cyclists using it during commuting hours. It’s time to voice your opinion and urge the council to remove it or narrow it.
West Derby Road a central route to Liverpool city centre, a crucial link road to a major hospital, and access to a variety of local businesses, shops and schools. Cycle lanes have been installed without the consultation of the local community and the lanes are now starting to have an impact on people’s lives. Longer traffic queues (even out of peak hours), increased traffic to side residential roads to avoid main road, grid lock traffic with Green Lane and West Derby road roundabout (before any planned road works begin at peak hours), restricted movement for emergency services and hazard of hitting cyclists coming of main a road.
