SPRINGFIELD Park v Alder Hey Trustees! No houses, just give us a decent park!
The Issue
This is serious now! We really have had enough of false promises!
Under the first ever agreement with Alder Hey and Liverpool City Council, we were promised our park hector for hector, that’s matching the same amount of land back and a decent park!
Over five years ago we were promised this and it was agreed that no houses would be built. However, what Alder Hey reneged on telling us, that they had brownfields, this is land that is used for building on. So the action group and friends of Springfield park have always defended against unfairness and put our stance on NO HOUSES to be built at all.
The powers at B at Alder Hey trust have often, in their speeches and talks, offered us a new regenerated park and would re build this on the old site. The decision makers for the new Alderhey all said it would be a better park for our future generations to enjoy pastures green. Lies! Where’s Our Park. It is the people’s park! We all have a say in this!
Alder Hey Trust have sold this land to Step Places Developers as an easy option out of discussions with us the local people.
West Derby is a conservation area and the building of more houses, is causing this small village to become congested! With more buildings, come more people and more cars and more pollution, ect. This leads to a serious over kill on the ozone layer amongst other environmental problems. The proposal is to build 208 units 3 to 5 storeys including food, gym and creche plus 4 storey office block. This will most definitely generate much more traffic than they anticipate. This infrastructure will impact on the area to the detriment of the already over subscribed schools, longer waiting times at the doctors, dentists and other amenities.
Recent flooding in the area has proven that this small community needs lots of different avenues to exit routes. Avoiding yet another lock down that will prevent us from travelling to work because we can not leave our homes.
This land has been sold to a Commercial Property builders called step places developers. Look them up and comment your views to them x
We need everyone reading this to get on board and support a healthier living for our future generations. Save our planet, our environment and the roads we use.
We need to stop this proposal going through. NO more building of houses on our green spaces or near them! This is our land and our heritage. We want our parks to be like other parks where our children can explore, our pensioners can gather and chat and our young people can feel safe to meet and greet. The people of West Derby have always missed out on having a lovely park, we were promised a decent park 20 years ago. Shame on you Liverpool city councillors letting us down again! We were promised a park that we would be proud of. Stop Reneging on your promise!
West Derby is historical, we are actually in the dooms day book. We had the first vikings visit our lands and walk our paths! Let us be as bold as the vikings and Fight for what is our right. Please support this cause!
please share to as many people you know! If Alder Hey Trustees, Liverpool City council and step places can’t hold proper consultations, let’s show them that the people of Goodwill in Liverpool can!
