Inaccurate information

This petition may contain information given to me that is inaccurate. Parts of it were changed without my permission (for example: I never stated that I was going after the Mayor of Livermore). I have asked for clarity from someone working in the Public Works Department. Let's see where that leads. Thank you to everyone who signed, and let's see how much more we can accomplish. As of last week, ALL the flightless birds and their chicks were safely removed and brought to a sanctuary. That is a huge win for us, but mostly for them. (The City agreed to have the birds relocated because, in my opinion, they would have looked terrible for refusing, and it meant less work for them when it came time to remove the surviving birds themselves.) A lot of work went into getting the birds to safety, and it was residents- NOT the City who did all the work. (We have some great and dedicated people in this town.) Next up: Getting the turtles and frogs out of the water before the City fills it in. (Permission has been DENIED to residents by the City to do so thus far). As stated below, we cannot authorize volunteers to relocate the turtles because it would be against the California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations. Additionally, I wouldn’t recommend volunteers enter the pond due to safety concerns.
