The LRSD (Little Rock School District) is not requiring students to wear masks at school and leaving this choice to parents. This immensely endangers students and teachers, especially those at a higher risk of complications, to contract COVID-19. Masks are not a political issue; they are meant to keep the population safe. 

Masks do not protect the person who wears them; they only work effectively if both the carrier of COVID-19 and the healthy person are wearing one. Everyone must wear a mask for the concept to work. Cases that start at school can stem off to entire communities if not controlled. 

Masks are a PROVEN way to stop transmission of COVID-19. There is no adequate reason for masks to not be required at school. Putting a piece of cloth over one's face is a simple, entirely harmless way to prevent cases of COVID-19.
