Imagine getting to Snowbird and Alta in 7 minutes… under an avalanche.  

Right now the debate is between a 1. The gondola will change the scenery of the canyon and it will be affected by high winds, taking about 40 minutes to go up the canyon.  2. Widening the road is the second option.  Both solutions from the 20th century. 

We need 21 century solutions to solve 21 century problems. Thanks to Elon Musk's Boring Company and others there have been drastic improvements in tunnel building technology in recent years. 

Some of the unfounded objections to the idea include: 

1. How do you drill through granite? Learn about the Hong Kong Cable Tunnel drilled with 30-year-old Tech 

2. What about the watershed? Tunnels are bored and built in a water-tight system.  There are many examples of tunnels that have been bored in other areas with similar water concerns.  

3. What about Earthquakes? Tunnels are designed with special measures in areas with Earthquakes (look at the Hong Kong Cable Tunnel)
