Petition for road improvements on county maintained roads. Our infrastructure can no longer support the growing population, a situation exacerbated by new construction leading to more housing developments, which will undoubtedly further inflate the problem once they are complete. Yet, the only changes being made are in the interests of large businesses, who have financed traffic improvements that serve them exclusively, to the detriment of residential traffic. It is becoming increasingly clear that our current four-way stop systems are not efficient enough to handle this rapid escalation in road usage. 

Our tax dollars should go towards implementing solutions that genuinely improve our lives, and that begins with enhancing our roadways for everyone - not just the organizations who can buy preferential upgrades. Replacing four-way stop signs with traffic lights in high-traffic areas is a tested measure that can significantly reduce congestion and improve the flow of traffic. In fact, a study published in the Transportation Research Record found that traffic delays can be reduced by as much as 20-50% by replacing two-way stop-controlled intersections with signalized ones(Source: TRR Journal).

Let's put our taxes to work for us and invest in a solution that will make our daily commutes smoother and our streets safer. It's time to call upon our municipal authorities to replace these outdated four-way stop systems with traffic light controlled intersections and complete long extended roadway improvements.
