I would like to apologize for some of the information I posted yesterday. Due to the sources of my information from the inside of LISD schools I had to say principals instead of the actual name of the principal to protect my inside sources. Not all LISD principals are doing this. I am aware that this does not apply to all school principals in the district, and I do appreciate the few administrator/principals we have that are trying to make a change. I would like to thank those principals for trying to make a change under such harsh conditions they are under. I was also informed last night through another one of my sources that teachers and principals are being told not to sign this petition. Answer me this. Why does a district of this size care about a petition from an everyday, hardworking individual? I know the answer, we are starting to win over our LISD community with the truth and ESC is scared. This is what we want to happen, our voices as a group are being heard. Let’s keep up the good work, bring the truth of the matter to the community so that we can decide what is best for our teachers, administration, and students. That is how a district is run. We vote members to the board of trustees to speak for us the community. We do not vote them in so they can make decisions in their best interest. Their job is to listen to the community and relay that information to the superintendent. The board has forgotten who the boss really is in our district. They are letting this part time criminal run our schools into the ground, and hide behind all the good things that are happening in our schools. I had the opportunity to sit in on a board meeting last year at Johnston McQueen Tables were set with fall decorations, lunch was prepared for the board members , and children were on hand to be shown off for their accomplishments like prize winning cattle. The children’s accomplishment were great I have to say, but the truth of the matter is this. They need to focus on the issues at hand before patting their selves on the back. By focusing on the problem issues and fixing them, then your students accomplishments will triple in numbers. To be honest I would call the meeting as I saw it, a dog and pony show. Teachers, administrators it is time to stand up to the “HILL” tell them what you need, and if it’s not done keep pushing until we get what we need. I applaud you all for the job you do. It takes dedication to the children’s education to work in such a hostile environment, and I believe with change comes success. I have been told that no one should come on to the board with their own agenda, but this I believe is B.S. Each section in our district should have the agenda to make the schools in their section better for the students, teachers and administrators. We are the voice of the community, let us be heard. In closing I would like to leave you with a quote from an amazing man in history: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.” Martin Luther King, Jr. Thank You, Jason Bates
