Justice against the Racism at CPHS

Justice against the Racism at CPHS
The Issue
Earlier this summer in July a group of students from Cedar Park High School and Middle School we’re destroying others property (BLM posters and signs) and yelling racial slurs, “DIE NIG*ERS DIE,” down the street. On Instagram, people who don’t even know Ms.Hunter or her daughter have taken more action then LISD and CPHS. Shelia Hunter describes being “disappointed” and “disgusted” once learning that two of the six racist teens involved are a part of the CPHS Celebrity Dance Program, and participate in that class with her daughter. There has been no disciplinary action taken or consequences for and any other teens who participate or were involved in the racists and hateful behavior that night by the district, administration, of the CPHS dance program.
This petition is for Justice to happen in the LISD district, and for the CPHS administration to take disciplinary action and responsibility for the students in the ways of public statements and apologizes to the families & communities, being removed from their extracurricular (dance, football, etc), and the mass consideration of expelling students. Most importantly, beyond the statements and letters, we NEED ACTION. We need change. We do not want hateful and racist people in our community so please let’s be better, so things like this don’t happen again. We are not saying this petition will end racism... it can’t, but hopefully we can show how important this issue is to us and encourage people to make a change. LISD and CPHS are in charge and in control of how far they are willing to fight for the students who have been wronged, they’re either with us or against us. Make a positive change in our communities and an example as to what self accountability should look like.
