My daughter Sabrina died 3 years ago of a heroin overdose! After a hard fought battle to save her life. The system as it is today and was then is working against saving lives. It is not equipped to deal with this addiction and how it renders the addict unable to make decisions that are in the best interest of saving their lives. Meanwhile the money we already spend on this epidemic is poorly spent and ineffective! We are losing far too many young people who are being introduced to this opiate addiction thru the irresponsible use and abuse of prescription pain killers! It is irresponsible of our state government to not take a much deeper look into stopping these tragic deaths and stopping this widespread misuse of such powerful and life threatening medication.
