Stop using non-biodegradable material in tea bags

Stop using non-biodegradable material in tea bags
The Issue
Lipton's new pyramid tea bags are no longer compostable - they are made from some kind of plastic. I sent them an email and they confirmed "The new Lipton Pyramid bags are not made from a biodegradable material." Now this might not seem like such a big deal but think about how many millions of tea bags will end up in landfills, adding to the huge problem of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials. Previous bag material was 100% biodegradable and compostable. Although the new bags "contain 40% less tea bag material than the traditional double chamber tea bag", less packaging does not always translate to more environmentally-friendly.
