The bees are dying and their disappearance is a threat to us!
So, yes, they can be scary, they can sting us, but above all they are ESSENTIAL to our survival!
Recently, the rate of bee extinction has been noted to be 100 to 1000 times higher than normal.
Why is this a danger?
Well, because these little creatures are the guardians of biodiversity! They are at the origin of pollination, which is an essential process for the reproduction of plants… They pollinate more than 170,000 varieties of plants.
But you should also know that they are therefore essential to our diet because 75% of the world's food production, and 84% of wild plants, depends on pollinating insects.
Because of what ?
Well, as you can imagine, the main cause is human activity.
Intensive agriculture and pesticides, which weaken them and make them vulnerable to Varo Destructor, the overexploitation of honey bees which they progress, but it is ONE species, of the genus APIS, which pollinates little elsewhere, among 25,000 species of wild bees, which are in decline by 80% in just 3 decades, like all 200,000 species of pollinators, climate change are the main threats. Droughts, floods and disruptions to flowering seasons are catastrophic for bees.
We must act quickly, it is urgent to save the species!
How ?
We can act on our own scale by favoring organic consumption, avoiding pesticides in our vegetable gardens, leaving a small bowl of water outside in case of drought… Many solutions exist.
But governments also need to get involved. It is together that we can save the fauna and flora.
Actions must be implemented locally and internationally!
