Hello dear benevolent,
Our petition has passed the milestone of 39,000 signatures and is gaining around 100 signatures per day (it's far from the 5,000 of the first week, but that's already it).
Thank you.
On the other hand, I go back to a comment I had on Twitter from one of the FAO officials, who told me this: "I don't understand why this petition is not yet at 50,000 or 100,000 signatures when it's about bees, who deserve 1 million because they are LIFE!".
And yes, our bees are dying and their disappearance is a real threat for us, and even the planet (allow the reproduction of plants and trees, and therefore depends on them a good part of the atmosphere, of oxygen).
Some striking figures, and very real.
⚈ extinction rate 1000 times higher than normal
⚈ 90% of wildflower plants and 75% of food crops depend on them.
⚈ According to the FAO, 84% of the world's crops depend on it
⚈ 30% of colonies disappear each year
⚈ 53% of insect-pollinated plants decline
⚈ 40% of the approximately 20,000 wild bees are disappearing, and they are the ones who pollinate the most (partly because of modern beekeeping practices, which create for one species only, the genus APIS, a colossal competition for food: bees flowers)
⚈ 85% of our diet depends on it
⚈ 30% of foods contain neonicotinoids
⚈ 80% of plants depend on bees
⚈ Pollination brings us 265 billion dollars / year (a honey species: APIS and its cousins).
Thank you for your financial support, which I see, and for your many shares.
Together, all together, we will lead this petition to victory!
Sincerely,
Philippe TREBAUL
