It is frustrating and isolating to be unable to participate in this increasingly common exchange.

Hospitality operators everywhere are rapidly adopting QR code technology, with Statistics estimating a QR code market growth from 9.76 billion in 2020 to expected 23.5 billion USD by 2025. QR codes have become an everyday tool for many, yet they exclude an unconsidered demographic: individuals without a camera on their phones. Reported by Fortune, millions of people, particularly in low-income and elderly populations, cannot access or afford smartphones with camera functionality.

Therefore, this petition advocates for a policy requiring transparency and inclusivity from QR code issuers. We are advocating for mandatory inclusion of a link address near every QR code so everyone, regardless of their gadget's capabilities, can access the necessary information easily. This request is not just about convenience, but about fairness and accessibility.
