Re-elect Scott Prudham for UTFA President

Re-elect Scott Prudham for UTFA President
The Issue
Support more transparency and accountability in decisions affecting tenure stream faculty, teaching stream faculty and librarians at the University of Toronto. Vote for a strong voice. Support the re-election of Scott Prudham as the President of the University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA).
We, the undersigned, are part of a coalition of faculty and librarians at the U of T who wish to see change in the way decisions are made in the University that affect the context of our work as academics. We seek to work through UTFA to protect and enhance collegial governance at the U of T, and in turn, to make sure that we, as academic staff, are prepared to confront, together, the many challenges facing higher education and knowledge production. These challenges include declining government support for teaching and research, a shifting landscape of academic publishing, new ways of delivering courses, and the corporatization of universities including our own.
To face these changes, and to shape the future of the U of T, our faculty association needs a strong voice and a renewed, reinvigorated mandate. For these reasons, we support the re-election of Scott Prudham as President of the University of Toronto Faculty Association.

Chair, Graduate, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology); Harriet Sonne de Torrens (Visual Resource Librarian, UTM); Cynthia Messenger (Senior Lecturer and Director, Writing and Rhetoric Program, Innis College); Kenneth McDonald (Associate Professor, Human Geography and City Studies, UTSC)
