Lincoln’s sexual offences rate is more than DOUBLE the national average score, and in a city full of students (who often stay up late at the library or nights out etc), it is ridiculous to expect people of any age to walk down quiet, pitch black roads at night. This opens people up to the risk of any criminal offences against them, but in particular it means that the risk of sexual offences are much more likely to happen. 

In June 2020 alone, there were 62 reported violent and sexual offences; 50 reported anti-social behaviours; 15 reported criminal damage and arson cases, and 14 public order offences. These are only the reported ones, so the true numbers could be much higher.

It isn’t safe, and with crime on the rise it doesn’t make sense to keep denying local residents the security we deserve.
