Let New Parents Cheer for the Eagles!

Living in Philadelphia, it’s hard not to be an Eagles fan and it is almost impossible to walk around the city without seeing everyone, including children and pets, proudly dressed in Eagles green. As a mother of two beautiful children, I would love to go on family outings to Eagles games to watch us beat the Cowboys, since it’s a great way to relax, de-stress, meet up with friends, and enjoy the atmosphere of being surrounded by tens of thousands of like-minded fans.

But for many families and mothers like myself, it’s still very difficult to come and cheer on our beloved Eagles, because Lincoln Financial Field doesn’t offer any rooms for parents to feed and change their children.

Join me in calling on Lincoln Financial Field to allow necessary childcare gear through the gates and provide a space for parents to feed their babies in privacy while still cheering on the team.

I am proud to be able to breastfeed my children, and I’m so appreciative of all the places I’ve been to that have accommodations for breastfeeding moms. It’s sad to know that if I want to attend an Eagles game with my friends and family, I will be forced to breastfeed in the stands with 69,000 other people or in a cramped bathroom stall. I’ve also heard stories from moms who couldn’t even bring breast pumps into the stadium, and parents who were turned away for bringing diaper bags. Mothers and families who buy tickets and plan a whole trip around seeing a football game should not have to feed their babies in a bathroom or spend half of the game looking for a place to change their children! We should be able to continue watching the game in a quiet and discreet room.

What I’m asking for isn’t impossible. This year, Nationals Park (the home of Washington DC’s major league baseball team) was the target of a similar Change.org petition. After a lot of pressure from the petition and media, they listened to fans, including parents, and opened a beautiful nursing room complete with comfortable recliners and a TV with a live feed of the game.

If one team can do it, so can the Eagles. And if Lincoln Financial Field will listen to anyone, it’s the Eagles fans and parents because #ParentsChangeTheGame.

Please sign my petition to ask Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, to accommodate new parents in their stadium.
