Limit the Use of Fireworks to Annual, Controlled Events

Limit the Use of Fireworks to Annual, Controlled Events

The Issue

Every year, countless animals suffer due to the startling and often traumatic noise produced by fireworks. Our pets; our cats, dogs and other beloved companions suffer, and some even lose their lives to this terrifying ordeal. These animals matter, and we should not ignore their plight for the sake of fleeting entertainment.

Studies suggest that firework displays can cause significant distress and fear in animals, especially domesticated pets (University of Bristol, 2006). The RSPCA in the U.K reports on an annual basis about hundreds of incidents related to the misuse of fireworks causing distress and harm to animals.

By limiting fireworks to once a year at controlled events, we can offer our pets and wildlife a significant amount of protection from the trauma they experience. This is not a call to end the usage of fireworks, but rather a petition to better control their use and ensure the well-being of all our co-inhabitants on this planet.

Join us in calling for a change to fireworks legislation. Let’s protect our animals and ensure that they don't suffer unnecessarily. Please, sign and share this petition and let your voice be heard.
