As a Virginia resident we are impacted and need to raise awareness about the escalating damage on our environment, we're raising our voices to draw attention to the effects of single-use plastics. Our planet is suffering and our health is at risk. 

Single-use plastics are a significant concern due to their long degradation period, The release of harmful chemicals from such plastics into the air negatively influences human health, and in a broader sense, contributes to climate change. 

This petition is aimed at our Virginia General Assembly to enact policies and you are encouraged to contact them about limiting or banning certain single-use plastics within the state of Virginia. We propose an exception in relation to the medical field, acknowledging their use in healthcare. By targeting single-use plastic reduction in Virginia, we can help start a movement that promotes biodiversity, public health, and the long-term sustainability of the planet.
