Limit the Influx of Migration into Mitchelstown to Protect Local Resources

Limit the Influx of Migration into Mitchelstown to Protect Local Resources
The Issue
I am a resident of Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland. Our community has recently been informed that Marian Court, New Square is set to receive a large number of migrants in the coming weeks. This news was reported by The Avondhu Newspaper and it states that the property holds 57 beds across 20 rooms.
Mitchelstown is a close-knit community already stretched beyond its limits. We are struggling with limited health services and housing shortages for our local population. The sudden influx of such a large number will put an immense strain on our already overburdened system.
Our town cannot sustain this level of migration without significant impact on our resources and infrastructure. We need to ensure that any migration into Mitchelstown is managed in a way that respects both the needs of migrants and the capacity of our local community.
We are not against helping those in need but we believe in sustainable help which does not compromise the wellbeing and resources available to current residents.
This petition calls upon relevant authorities to reconsider this decision, taking into account the current state of resources in Mitchelstown. It's time we prioritise sustainable solutions over short-term fixes which could lead to long-term problems for locals as well as newcomers.
Please sign this petition if you share these concerns about preserving our town's resources while maintaining its welcoming spirit towards newcomers within reasonable limits.
