I have been living in the same apartment complex in Grand Rapids, MI for nearly six years. Each year, without fail, my rent has increased by $50 to $100. This is a reality faced not just by me but by countless other long-term renters across Michigan. Our incomes often remain stagnant while our rents continue to climb, making it increasingly difficult for us to afford basic necessities.
