With COVID, the last two years of in person entertainment has changed.  Now that bands and entertainers are being allowed live offline concerts, ticket resellers have cornered the market and robbed the average music fan of the opportunity to have an affordable option to see their favorite acts on stage. Recently, a popular K-Pop group, ATEEZ, announced a world tour with several sites in the US.  The tickets were sold out in 30 minutes, but not to the average individual.  Tickets with a face value of $43 are being sold for as much as $900 on ticket reseller sites.  Original ticket prices range from $43-$203

This money does NOT go to the acts themselves, it goes to greedy people that have the ability to use technology to purchase multiple ticktets before others even have a chance.Just one example of a reseller with exorbitant ticket prices  This not only hurts the acts themselves, but keeps many people from underrepresented groups and lower socioeconomic brackets from being able to enjoy the same things that others can.  We have all been hit hard by COVID and everyone wants to get back to some semblance of normal.  However, the hardest hit were also the poorest, and now the opportunity for them to experience their favorite groups has also been taken away by greedy ticket resellers.  In addition, there are a very limited number of handicapped seats at each venue, and with no due diligence on the part of the retailers or the venue holder, individuals with disabilities who cannot safely attend such events are completely shut out. 

There needs to be a law on a federal level, not just a state level, limiting the amount of money over face value internet ticket sellers can charge. Many states have ticket scalping laws, but they do NOT apply to internet sellers.  There should be a maximum percentage over face value that tickets are allowed to be resold at, whether in person or via internet sites.
