This petition arises from a deeply personal concern I share with many others. We believe that our democracy thrives when fresh perspectives are continuously brought into the political arena. It is disconcerting to see the same individuals remain in Congress for decades, while our world undergoes constant change.

The U.S. Presidency is limited to two terms, a rule that ensures turnover and prevents concentration of power (source: The 22nd Amendment). We propose that this same principle should apply to all members of Congress - both Senators and Representatives.

Currently, Senators can serve an unlimited number of six-year terms and Representatives an unlimited number of two-year terms (source: U.S. Constitution). This has led to some members serving for over 40 years! While experience is valuable, so too are fresh ideas and perspectives.

By limiting Congressional terms, we can ensure more opportunities for diverse voices to be heard in our government. It's time we updated our laws to reflect the dynamic nature of today's society.
